REUTERS - Tue Feb 7, 3:39 PM ET

LITHONIA, Georgia (Reuters) - Speakers took a rare opportunity to criticize U.S. President George W. Bush's policies to his face at the funeral on Tuesday of Coretta Scott King, widow of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

Civil-rights leader the Rev. Joseph Lowery and former President Jimmy Carter cited Mrs. King's legacy as a leader in her own right and advocate of nonviolence as they launched barbs over the Iraq war, government social policies and Bush's domestic eavesdropping program.

Supreme Court Rules Cities May Seize Homes

I was reading through the Drudge Report and found this artical about a supreme court decision. Basically, what the supreme curt said, by a narrow majority vote, is that citites can now displace people from their residences and hand the land over to developers to build office building, stores, malls, etc. For those of you firmly entrenched in the world of comic books and movies and care little about the direction of the United States, you can stop reading now. As for the others, this is a major frontal assault on our constitutional rights and is a perversion of the 5th amendment. In no way should eminent domain be extended to allow for the taking of private property only to be givin over to other private sectors under the guise of increasing tax revenue for the city. In no way should this be tolerated. Here is the link to the story so you can read it for yourself.

OK, I told myself that I was going to tone down the political content on AllisonRoad, but this one is just too good to pass on. While accepting the Special Filmmaking Achievement prize at the National Board of Review awards ceremony in New York, Clint Eastwood apparently felt compelled to comment on and address Michael Moore, who was seated in the audience.

"Michael Moore and I actually have a lot in common - we both appreciate living in a country where there's free expression," said Clint. Then, good ole' Clint locked eyes with that fat bastard and said, "but, Michael, if you ever show up at my front door with a camera - I'll kill you." Following a brief eruption of nervous laughter from the crowd, Clint reinforced his sentiment. "I mean it," he said. I bet Moore almost shit himself.

During these times of unrelenting, socialist slurm oozing from ever ... [Full Story]

Just kidding. I'm sure many of you have noticed by now the addition of a Google ad banner on the left side of the page. I know what you're thinking: Brint's starting to sell-out. In fact, I am simply trying to earn enough money from the ads to pay for AllisonRoad.org. No, do not despair: there is no chance that AllisonRoad is going away, even without the ad revenue. I just want to see if the site can pay for itself.

That said, please try to click on the Google ads from time-to-time so that my potential ad revenue increases. Besides, sometimes you'll see some pretty interesting links (they change depending on the content of the forum).

I appreciate everyone's help with this.

There’s an article on CNET News.com today about the possible demise of WinAmp, the popular media player application that sold out to AOL in 1999. The article details how key developers are leaving the company because of “compromises” they are being forced to make on WinAmp’s future development.

I went to WinAmp’s website today and captured this screen shot of the web site’s title: WINAMP.COM | Let the great canadian exodus begin. Normally, this would frustrate me, but given that Bush and the Republicans pretty much whooped this shit out of the Left, I draw amusement from WinAmp’s Left-leaning stance. Why? Because I know that it will be their socialist, communist, tree-hugging lifestyles that will lead to their ultimate demise.

Besides, I hated WinAmp anyway. Windows Media Player 1 ... [Full Story]

I was forwarded this, feel free to verify the accuracy, but none the less, it makes a good point.

HOW COULD 50 STATES BE WRONG?

THIS IS VERY INTERESTING! Somewhere along the way, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court have misinterpreted the U. S. Constitution. How could fifty States be wrong?
Be sure to read the last two paragraphs. America's founders did not intend for there to be a separation of God and state, as shown by the fact that all 50 states acknowledge God in their state constitutions:

Alabama 1901
Preamble: We the people of the State of Alabama, invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God, do ordain and establish the following Constitution

Alaska 1956
Preamble: We, the people of Alaska, grateful to God and to those who founded our nation and pioneered this great land ..

Arizona 1911

BUSH WINS! Roll out the keg!

I’m sure you’ve all heard by now that Senator John Kerry has conceded the presidential election to President George W. Bush. No lawsuits, no delaying the inevitable: George W. Bush will serve as President of the United States for the next four years. I am fully confident that he will continue to lead this country with the moral clarity and the faith-based strength and decisiveness he has for the past four years. It’s a good day to be an American, and I couldn’t be prouder.

What’s strange is that I’m not experiencing the same feelings I thought I would if Bush won. I’m not jumping up and down and firing my pistol into the air, screaming “BUSH WINS!” at everyone I see. I’m not drunk off my ass (at least right now), laughing and frolicking around like a school girl. Instead, it’s a strange calm…a feeling of relief and a sense that God truly is guiding Bush and this country in these uneasy times. It’s a very warm, peaceful feeling that comes from knowing that the majority of this country is conservative in their core beliefs. I don’t quite feel anymore like the end of the world may be around the corner.

The next four years are brighter and more prospective than I could have ever imagined before now. President Bush will continue to fight the good fight in the War on Terror. The economy will continue to strengthen and grow, possibly to new highs like never before. Social issues like gay marriage are being trounced as we speak. You can call me a right-wing nut job, but I know in my heart that the conservative agenda, with President Bush’s steadfast support, is the best medicine that this country has had in a long time. And today I rest knowing that it will continue for four more years.

Looking good so far...

I woke up this morning at about 1:30 AM with the kind of panic you feel after having a dream about dying. For about 30 minutes I sat in front of my computer perusing the various websites, each (FOX News vs. CNN, for example) differently predicting the outcome of the presidential election. This morning, despite some last-ditch efforts to “count every vote” (as John Edwards proclaimed), everything seems to be falling in place for the good guys. Gay marriage was shot down in 11 states. Republicans now have control of the House and the Senate and, assuming no major upsets (none are expected), George W. Bush will continue to serve as President of the United States of America for the next four years. Thank you, God.

I’ll try to keep AllisonRoad.org updated as events occur.

The Most Important Election In Recent History

This is it, men. It’s balls to wall as we sit in anticipation on the eve of the most important Election Day in recent history. Many of us will be drunk tomorrow night, either from ecstatic celebration or the kind of utter sorrow you can only feel when your dog dies. Or perhaps we’ll be drunk just to be drunk because an army of lawyers will attempt to pervert and distort our (conceptually) great system of democracy. In any case, I’m giddy with excitement.

At this point, not much else can be said beyond what has already been covered in agonizing depth before (i.e. John Kerry is a traitor and a commie fag). I must admit that I really have no idea who will win this election. My hope is that a silent conservative majority will make a powerful showing tomorrow and crush the liberal left with sweeping force. I would love for nothing more than to see the hopes of Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell blown to bits by landslide victory for Bush. On the other hand, the Democrats are bussing poor, homeless people to the polls in waves, buying their votes with sandwiches and last-minute empty promises. Boortz thinks this election hinges on raw voter turnout; others think that the War on Terror is foremost on people’s minds while others point to the economy and social issues. I think that Bush is the best candidate on all of the issues, but no one can say for sure what’s going on inside the minds of every other American out there.

Go vote tomorrow. And while you’re there, slap a liberal.

The first round of 2004 Presidential Debates are over. Many are saying this may be Bush’s first defeat, and may lead to his ultimate defeat in November. Others note Kerry’s uncanny ability to claim a better way, without any hints as to what that “way” is.

What are your thoughts?
